Turia's Everest Trek - Urgen Kalden
Story
Hello everyone,
A very good and hearty warm wishes to you. I am a third degree burn survivor from a fire accident while cooking at home. It has been little more than three years now and I am very blessed to have a strong caring family, great friends and a supportive community.
While resting and staying home, I have read, listened to HH the Dalai Lama’s teaching about how to live a happy and meaningful life and I stumbled upon a very inspiring book by Turia Pitt called “Everything to live for”.
I realized that I should and can make a difference and give service to people in need by joining my inspiration TuriaPitt and a team of 20 others on an 18 days trek to Everest Base Camp in May 2017. The trek will be amazingly rewarding knowing I am raising money for Interplast a charity that helps repair bodies and rebuild lives throughout the Asia Pacific region.
With your support, Interplast teams of volunteer plastic and reconstructive surgeons, health care professionals can continuously provide free surgical treatment to the world’s poorest patients living with treatable disabilities such as cleft lip and palate and burn scars. The funds I raise as part of this challenging adventure will help sustain them for many more years to come.
